Turning Pages...

Hello, Fabulous Readers!

Thank you for opening this newsletter—it’s not another book launch announcement—although there will be plenty of those in the future.

Between the Lines

New PIVOT Alert

I'm changing things up, kind of like when you try a new hairstyle and hope no one says, "Oh, that's ...different." (fingers crossed)

I’m kicking off a biweekly (or monthly, depending on coffee levels) newsletter as I turn the page into full-time fiction writing. See what I did there? Caution: may pun without warning. And if you're thinking, Carol, newsletters are so 2005, I'm out, you can absolutely unsubscribe. But I hope you'll stick around for all the tips, inspiration and irreverent humor I'll undoubtedly bring. Or at least a punny something here and there.

Expect juicy updates, sneak peeks at upcoming releases, and my general sass on life. And just so I don’t leave my past books behind, each newsletter will include:

A Health Habit/Hack –

  • An awesome health tip I’ve discovered and tried out—because once a breast cancer warrior, always a wellness advocate.Tip: Get in the habit of reading labels and aim for ten ingredients or less (that you can recognize and pronounce). The goal is to eat real food. A healthy body is the best setting for any story to unfold. Whoomp, there it is.

Mad Dog Mischief and Series Fun Facts –

  • For the little (and big) readers: The real-life Mad Dog and his favorite cat (pictured above) are still providing daily inspiration and laughs! Expect some pet tale or Mad Dog fun fact, as well as a new children's book highlight and link.Fun fact: every illustrated page of MD books used every color of the rainbow. Why? Because little eyes love ALL the colors and so do we. See if you can spot them all.In honor of Valentine’s Day, check out this sweet little book and author friend. The Perfect Valentine’s Checklist, by Brittany Plumerihttps://a.co/d/cQg5mKQ

Words to Inspire –

  • A favorite quote I came across or made up to take with you every day.“Happily ever after” isn’t a place you arrive at—it’s the journey you create along the way.

WIP (work in progress) Update and Mood Music –

  • My current WIP is a tribute to my love of HEAs (happily ever afters) that promise fresh beginnings—but not without a little suffering first. And nothing captures all the feels quite like music. Here are my top current vibes for the new series:

  • Someone You Loved, Lewis Capadli

  • Beautiful Things, Benson Boone

  • Speakers, Sam Hunt

  • Stoned, Parker McCollumGive them a listen or download them and listen to them on repeat like I do. Let me know if they got you like they got me. And don't knock the country songs before you try them. They truly are the great storytellers.

Thanks for Being Part of the Adventure!

Whether you’re cheering on fictional romance, staying proactive about your health, or laughing along with us about one shenanigan or another, your support makes every page worth turning. Oops, I did it again. Did you notice my puns had layers? Like onions. There were song titles and movie quotes. But, folks, don't try this at home. I'm a professional.

With warmth, wit and the magic of words,

Carol Wyllie

P.S. Got a favorite indie book or author you’re gushing about, let me know! I may feature them in my newsletter.

My recent fave HEA indie book was Tiny Fractures, by J.V. Reeves. The followup, Edge of UnBroken will be out in March.
